First Day of School 2011

We pose in the same spot every year...I can't believe we've been doing this pose for four years now!  He is very proud of his shirt - it has a football, his favorite number on it, and the year his parents were born on it :)

Also a traditional picture, which has changed a lot since PK4

The new Phineas and Ferb backpack.  Mom put his backpack away last year and it just reappeared today.  What can I say - it's been a  long and busy summer!?!  At least I know where the kids are...
All ready for PK4 - I can't bear the thought that she'll be a full time student in a year!

 Silly little poser

I love this picture of her, except how grown up she looks!

He's One!

I keep wanting to write this stuff down and keep forgetting.  So right now, I'm putting it here and then it will be there when I want it later!
-He has 8 teeth and will clamp down if you try to get anything out of his mouth
-He sleeps terrible...just like his brother and sister at this age...gives me hope for a couple years from now since they are both awesome sleepers now!
-He can stand up on his own and takes about two steps
-He loves watermelon, peas, milk, peanut butter sandwiches.  There is very little he doesn't like, especially if he can feed it to himself.
-He's learned to shriek, it's bad
-He loves to play in the toilet, I've dragged him out of the bathroom at least 20 times to wash up.  We had just been closing the toilet lid - but he can now open it - and to quote Lucy on the topic "Uh oh that's not good"
-He loves his pacifier, way more than our other two and I'm okay with that.
-He can say mama, dada, dog, ball, hi, dat (that), ah (yeah), uh oh, woof woof
-He can shake his head yes and shake his head no - occasionally it makes sense
-He loves music and will bounce and sway to it
-He likes to point at things he thinks are interesting or to show you he knows what you are talking about
-He loves dogs, balls, being outside, and his siblings
-He likes to watch us play the Wii and tries to stand up on the balance board
-He's pretty even keel but is learning the art of the temper tantrum, here we go into toddlerhood

We got a new pool, it has made the heat more bearable

July 4th
Timmy, Ben, and Josh went to a ball game.  Cooper, Lu, and I went to the Jan's for dinner and then to another members for fireworks - it was a great evening.  Lucy thought the fireworks were too loud, Cooper just kept saying "ooooh" and clapping.

I'm working hard on projects trying to get ready to leave town for two weeks...interesting to have to organize a hobby :)

July 19th

Love love love the colors on this card.  I'd never wear them together or put them together in my house - but I think they rock on a card.  This is just one reason I love this hobby, putting together pretty things that don't work in any other part of my life :)

July 20th
Today he is 1!  We celebrated with a trip to the pool.

July 21st
Time for the county fair - and it is psycho hot

A Day at the Beach

We took a day trip to the beach with my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins.  I always think it is a blessing when my kids are able to spend some time with nice teenagers - it sets such a good example for them.  Two days with my cousins was perfect.  It was the first time we'd made it to the beach on this vacation (we're going back again :)).  Lucy was very afraid of the water at first, she disliked it so much she was asking to leave.  Timmy liked it and went right in, but fell down and went under and got scared.  So we had two kids who didn't want anything to do with the water!
With some coaxing they came around

First I got Lucy to dip her toes in, then daddy helped her to jump the waves.

Timmy was easier to convince...the weird way it feels like the ocean is pulling you out just took some getting used to.

Gram is the best at introducing the kids to playing in the sand

Can we move them to Illinois?

Learning to surf early :)

Checking out the tide pools - we saw crabs, sea anenome, mussels, and some sharp rocks

Cousins boogie boarding together

Yes, Woodworth folks, that's your Pastor :)

I forgot how fun this is - of course how often are there enough adults around to keep an eye on my kids so I can play for a couple hours straight and not worry about them?  This was great!

Timmy - grow up to be like him!

Lucy - grow up to be like her!

I provided the entertainment for Ben with my wipe outs.  He told me how hard he laughed at me, I told him he could laugh as long as he rescued me if I didn't come up :)

Afraid of the water - yes!  Afraid of holding a crab with Grandpa - no!
