She's 6!

How did this little lady get to be 6 already?
She is nearing the end of kindergarten and does well in the routine of school.  She has learned to read and does well with it.  I love catching her reading to her little brothers!  This year meant leaving behind her best buddy from preschool who transferred to a different school and joining a class with girls that weren't in her preschool class.  She learned to swim this year and has taken gymnastics and loves that.

She loves to play pretend with stuffed animals and dolls.  She loves to dress up both in everyday life and pretend.  She loves her long hair and insists mommy keep her hair long too.  Daddy has learned how to at least brush out her hair on busy mornings when mommy isn't available.  She loves to take baths and read scrapbooking magazines just like mommy.  For all her girly features she also loves to be outside getting dirty, snakes are her current favorite animal, she likes to fish and follow in daddy's footsteps enjoying nature.

She sings constantly.  Often she makes up songs that almost always involve "God the father" and "Jesus."  She sings at the top of her lungs every time she goes to the bathroom...it makes for quite the wake up call at night.  I'm told she does this at school too!

She likes many foods but especially dislikes potatoes, green beans, crust, peanut butter, and cottage cheese. Her lunch is a challenge because of the no peanut butter thing...but she does like tortillas and string cheese in lieu of a sandwich.

She loves Doc McSutfins, Max and Ruby, Strawberry Shortcake, Littlest Pet Shop, and Care Bears on tv.  She also really enjoys watching her brothers play Mario Kart.  She knows a ton about that game and is excited to tell you all about how Timmy is doing on it but has little to no interest in ever playing it.

She loves to create art projects of all sorts and entered a needlepoint that she worked hard on at the school talent festival.

She makes us laugh but often tells us not to laugh...easier said then done.  My favorite story of the year about her is when daddy told her he wasn't allowed to eat something.  She told him "you can always go and hide in your room and eat it...that's what I do when mommy won't let me eat things."  She then showed him her hidden stash of chocolate.  She is most definitely my daughter!

She is precocious, sensitive, loves Jesus, loyal, emotional, and funny; we wouldn't have her any other way!
