Swim Team 2013

Lucy and Timmy just wrapped up their first swim team season!

Lucy did great - working hard to improve from an exhibition swimmer (they get a helper in the pool next to them) to actually competing.

Timmy dramatically improved his strokes.  By the end of the season he was able to compete in all four strokes.

Lucy did the freestyle and breaststroke on her own.  She wasn't fast and always was last to finish - but the crowds were always encouraging. 

Timmy does really well with the freestyle.

In addtion to actually competing, Lucy also improved to the point of not needing to stop during her races.

Considering that a year ago she was afraid to put her face in the water, I couldn't be prouder of her hard work and determination!

Timmy's best stroke was definitely the breaststroke.  He swam that in the medley relay.  His best finish of the season was getting 3rd - finishing only behind two teammates.

Swim team is a big commitment!  Daily practices meant a lot of shuttling and sitting around time for the little guys.  But I love that every day they got a solid hour of exercise and sunshine.  I also enjoyed having the opportunity to get out of the house every day!  We are already looking forward to next year!
